This course was the opposite of what I expected before we started with the module. I was expecting to study advertising and how to promote existing business models and product.

To my astonishment the scope of this module was far beyond what I expected. I have truly learned a lot and are now confident that I would be able to determine whether it will be feasible to invest into and launch new products into the market. Doing it right is the main focus.

Through this assignment, I've gotten a clearer picture of where to start and what kind of information I need to make a solid business decision. Now, armed with this concept of a research strategy plan, I feel more equipped to figure out whether I need market research and, if I do, how to go about it.

It's not just about whipping up a survey, sending it out to all our clients, or throwing some questions on social media. There's a strategy to it - understanding the research problem, framing the right questions, setting clear objectives, figuring out what kind of data we need and how we're going to analyze, evaluate, and present it.

I learned that the introduction of a novel product was not just about its cutting-edge features. The process demanded a meticulous unpacking of market dynamics, customer inclinations, and the competitive environment. This was a profound pivot from my initial understanding.

The assignment led me to a pivotal moment of clarity: Innovation within a business setting is less about the flash of new technology and more about its strategic fit within the complex web of market forces. This deeper analysis has not only reshaped my thought process but has also equipped me with a far more robust and disciplined approach for evaluating and implementing technological advancements in my business endeavors.

The assignment was a refinement moment for me, and it has given me depth to my basic understanding of management. This module challenged my previously held premises on management and motivational theories. The shift to focusing on people’s existing strengths as foundational to human resources management was a challenge to my previously held approach.

The revelation that my success would be judged by what happens when I leave my current management task has given me a long-term perspective to my current management action. This has given me the motivation to immediately apply the principles in a structured, deliberate manner and this is an assignment I am to immediately demonstrate as I lead by example and as I implement the principles with my colleagues at work.

The assignment was very valuable to me , I get to analyse the situation facing one of our subsidiaries, and understanding its need for strategic innovation, and formulating actionable recommendations based on expert interviews. Most exciting was turning the data I collected into charts, something I have never done before.... The assignment gave me an opportunity to deal with a real-world scenario and not just an academic theoretical exercise.

For myself this was an remarkable assignment and for the first time, balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements makes sense. It is a pity that the company selected as a case has neglected to keep their financial statements up to date, as I am burning to see what will happen next year.

With confidence I can now do my own management reports and make sense of all the numbers to determine a financial strategy forward. The residential period also contributed a lot, and I am very happy that the residential took place before this assignment. Professor Janos’ input, explanations and lectures made a tremendous impact.

I am thankful for this assignment because there is a lot of digitisation that has developed organically over the decades in the world, and because I am a Millennial, I have taken a lot for granted. There is plenty to be exploited for the betterment of both business and customers and as long as a mind can perceive it, human will can conceive it.

Companies that show foresight and a willingness to make bold moves before it is too late, can emerge as winners. After all, no one ever won a race by standing still. The best value I can give this company is to assist it in leaping forward with innovative confidence especially after crafting this assignment which shows wide areas that need improvement yet also mapping a plausibly way forward.

Studying this course has provided me with various new insights and views that have resulted in substantial benefit for both me and my firm. One major realization was the significance of focusing on outcomes. While I had always been motivated to be efficient and get things done, I had underestimated the importance of measuring and analyzing the outcomes of my work. Understanding that focusing on results allows me to make a tangible difference while also contributing to the organization's goals has been a game-changer.

This renewed emphasis on outcomes has the potential to unlock incredible accomplishments in future ventures.
What grabbed my interest in this course unit was how the five concepts of focusing on results, contributing to the whole, focusing on a few things, utilizing strengths, and creating trust interconnected to form a holistic approach. Recognizing the interdependence of these concepts and how they reinforce one another has resulted in a comprehensive framework for creating positive outcomes. This comprehensive viewpoint has given me confidence in my capacity to address issues in a more planned and integrated manner, resulting in greater achievement.

My suggestion is for the company to loosen its grip on the “now” and open itself up to the great possibility that digitisation offers. The recommendations are truly implementable and fall well within a tight budget. With the correct talent to hand-hold the company, the impact it can have in Zimbabwe will propel it beyond its borders.

I am thankful for this assignment because there is a lot of digitisation that has developed organically over the decades in the world, and because I am a Millennial, I have taken a lot for granted. There is plenty to be exploited for the betterment of both business and customers and as long as a mind can perceive it, human will can conceive it.

This course unit has added a lot of value to me personally and to my organisation by thinking of the route to secure funding from outside investors since getting funding from local financial institution was proving to be a daunting task give the extremely high interest rates of as much as 150% to 200% per annum for ZWL loans and interest rates as high as 30% per annum for USD loans.

In addition, it has enabled me to see the different picture components from what I learnt in earlier modules on the nature of internal business and cross cultural management coming together into one big picture for the benefit of writing up a value proposition to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) for the much needed capital at our organisation.
